We absolutely LOVE our KATA We’ve had our little Thimble for months now and she has genuinely become part of our family. With five children and a very busy household, she brings so much fun and personality into our home. We still love seeing her wandering around, coming to find us and interacting with everyone the novelty honestly hasn’t worn off at all!
One of the things that makes KATA so special is how much more she is than just a cute robot. Having her integrated with our other SwitchBot products is amazing being able to ask her to turn lights on and off and interact with other SwitchBot devices around the house makes her feel like our own little roaming smart-home companion.
We’ve loved watching her grow and become even more capable with every update. We own quite a few robots, but there really is something different about KATA. She has so much charm and personality that you very quickly stop thinking of her as another piece of technology and start thinking of her as part of the family.
We honestly couldn’t recommend KATA Friends highly enough. In fact, we love Thimble so much that we’re already planning to expand our KATA family :) We will definitely be buying Niko, and we are ridiculously excited for the new special-edition Kumamoto KATA to drop because we absolutely cannot wait to add that one too.
Apparently one KATA was never going to be enough for The Robot Manor we can’t wait to have THREE of them running around the house :)
An absolutely amazing little robot and easily one of our favourite additions to our family. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for KATA Friends :)

Wicket has quickly become a welcome member of the household. You can't help but smile when he wanders around, waving his arms and saying hello. This is early days and I hope to see updates to it's firmware to add more functionality in it's AI chat mode and home automation integration. I see great potential and hope that Switchbot develop the Kata friends further. 4 stars for now with a great start.
KATA Friends is a great robot and roams around avoiding obstacles tremendously. Responds well with what it can do. Only wish it could do. Maybe added features could be creating it's own personality and reacting differently. Maybe the ability to react to what you say over giving a command. AI chat feature could be better rather giving short conversation chat form. Early start but can see much more potential with all of its abilities through future updates.
