I’ve been using the SwitchBot AI Hub for a little while now, and I don’t know how I ran my smart home before this thing!
Firstly, it’s a great SwitchBot hub. Connection with the child devices has been solid, connection to the WiFi hasn’t dropped once and it blends naturally into the background - secretly running the world inside these four walls.
But that’s not what you’re buying this for. It’s the 3 built in features; Frigate, Home Assistant and OpenClaw.
Starting with Frigate, this is the easiest setup I think I’ve ever seen. You literally just paste in your RTSP URL in from your camera (or just click add if it’s an already compatible SwitchBot camera on your account) and it’s in. From there it can be used to give you an in-depth view of what’s going on in your home.
From there you can add this to the next feature: Home Assistant. Having this ready to go out of the box is amazing. If you’ve wanted to get beyond Apple Home or Alexa, but the thought of flashing Raspberry Pis has put you off - this is the simplest way to go about it. I was using HA previously, and shifted my backup over to the hub for ease of use since it can connect to the Frigate instance already installed. I now have all my Matter, HomeKit and even some “smart” appliances that couldn’t be added to other eco systems, all in one spot.
And this brings us onto OpenClaw. OpenClaw is amazing. One click in the SwitchBot UI and it’s setting itself up, downloading the model and getting itself ready to go. But that’s just the beginning. Once it’s on, you can tell it to find the HomeAssistant and Frigate instances on the same URL and it’ll connect them all together. Add in Telegram or WhatsApp, and you’ve got your own personal house butler to keep an eye on things, or make changes to the home, just by sending them a message. The amount of times I’ve just texted my house “are the pets okay?” while I’m out, and it’s used Frigate to locate them, and HomeAssistant to check the house temperature - it’s nothing short of magic!
Tl;dr - I love this hub. Now I just need a new Outdoor Spotlight cam to drop that can run on it! *Hint Hint SwitchBot*

This next-generation hub is equipped with a visual language model and works together with the indoor camera to send text notifications telling you who did what and where. We use it as a baby monitor connected to the camera in the bedroom, so when our baby wakes up, stands up, or starts moving, we get notified right away and can react immediately.
Our baby isn’t doing this yet, but if they ever try to climb over the playpen, it would alert us instantly—so it feels incredibly reassuring and practical!
The design is also very clean and minimal, which I personally love.

With traditional smart remotes, you usually have to look up model numbers or register buttons one by one, which is honestly painful. But this AI Hub is completely different.
